Accessing CryoSPARC via the SCU Portal

CryoSPARC Access Guide

Overview

The SCU CryoSPARC Portal (https://scu-tools01.med.cornell.edu/) is a landing page that lists each lab's dedicated CryoSPARC instance. Each lab runs on its own port on the same host, so the link you click determines which lab's instance and data you connect to.

Steps to Access CryoSPARC

  1. Go to https://scu-tools01.med.cornell.edu/ in a web browser. Note: You will need to be connected via VPN for off-campus access.
  2. Find your lab's name in the list on the page.
  3. Click your lab's link (or the matching "Port 80XX" link below it) to open your lab's CryoSPARC instance at scu-tools01.med.cornell.edu:80XX.
  4. At the CryoSPARC login screen, sign in with the CryoSPARC account credentials for your lab (issued by your lab's CryoSPARC administrator or SCU). This is separate from your Weill Cornell CWID login.
  5. Once logged in, you'll land in the CryoSPARC dashboard, where you can view projects, launch jobs, and monitor processing on your lab's instance.

Each lab has its own instance and port. Bookmark your specific link for faster access next time.

Notes & Troubleshooting

  • If you don't have CryoSPARC login credentials, contact SCU to request an account.
  • If a lab's link doesn't load, the instance may be stopped or restarting — please contact SCU support.
  • Each lab's data is isolated to its own instance/port; you cannot see another lab's projects from your own login.
  • Tip: Bookmark your direct lab link (e.g., https://scu-tools01.med.cornell.edu:8003 for Boudker Lab) to skip the portal page in the future.
