Network Access and Connection
Accessing any of the HPCC SCU clusters from an off-campus location requires an active connection to the WCM Cisco Secure Client for Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Note: Think of the VPN as a secure tunnel that places your off-campus device directly onto the campus network, enabling you to remotely SSH into the clusters just as if you were sitting physically on campus.
Getting Connected
1. Requesting Access & Setup
- Account Submission: We aim to always submit account and access requests on the user's behalf.
- Processing Time: Because this ticket is completed and provisioned by a separate department (ITS), completion times can vary.
Connecting via SSH
Once your VPN is active and your account is provisioned, you can connect to the cluster login node using an SSH client. For detailed instructions and examples on setting up and using various terminal tools, please view the SSH Clients Guide.
